I am Dr Colette Aoun — a doctor of theoretical, descriptive and computational linguistics, an educational consultant, university lecturer, trainer, author and curriculum designer.
For more than twenty-five years I have worked alongside teachers, coordinators, school leaders and education teams, from early years through to lower secondary.
My work connects research, training and the reality of the classroom, so that what I offer is practical, inclusive and shaped around how learners actually learn.
My career
My career has been built around several complementary strands: teaching, university research, curriculum design, assessment of learning, writing textbooks, training professionals, and supporting schools.
I have also led teams of authors and contributed to the design of teaching and digital resources across several subjects and school levels.
That experience has taken me to train and support education professionals in Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Canada, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates — Dubai in particular — and France.
How I see education
I believe every child can learn and make progress when teaching takes account of their needs, their pace and the way they learn.
Education should let a pupil act, think, experiment, work with others and understand the point of what they are learning. The teacher's part in that is decisive: they create the conditions for confidence, curiosity, independence and the pleasure of learning.
My approach rests on a conversation between scientific knowledge, the experience of teachers and the realities of the classroom.

Conception et développement des curricula
Je conçois, analyse et adapte des curricula en tenant compte des finalités éducatives, des compétences attendues, de la progression des apprentissages et des besoins des élèves. J’accompagne également les équipes dans la planification annuelle, l’articulation entre les cycles et la cohérence entre les programmes, les pratiques d’enseignement et l’évaluation.
Évaluation des apprentissages
Experte en évaluation, j’accompagne les établissements et les enseignants dans la conception de dispositifs permettant de mieux observer les progrès des élèves et d’ajuster l’enseignement. Mon travail porte notamment sur l’évaluation diagnostique, formative et sommative, les critères de réussite, les grilles d’observation, les compétences, le retour pédagogique et l’analyse des résultats.
Formation et accompagnement des professionnels de l’éducation
Je conçois et anime des formations destinées aux enseignants, aux formateurs, aux coordinateurs, aux directions, aux surveillants et aux membres du personnel administratif. Mes interventions associent apports théoriques, analyse de situations professionnelles, expérimentation et outils directement transférables sur le terrain.
Accompagnement pédagogique des établissements
J’aide les établissements à analyser leurs besoins, à définir leurs priorités et à faire évoluer leurs pratiques. Cet accompagnement peut comprendre l’observation de classes, l’analyse des dispositifs pédagogiques, la formation des équipes, le suivi des coordinateurs, la conception de plans d’action et l’évaluation des changements mis en œuvre.
Didactique des langues et des sciences
Ma formation en linguistique et mon expérience dans la conception de ressources m’ont permis de développer une expertise dans l’enseignement et l’apprentissage des langues, ainsi que dans la didactique des sciences. Je travaille particulièrement sur la progression des apprentissages, la compréhension, l’acquisition du langage, la formulation des consignes et la construction de démarches actives.
Éducation de la petite enfance
J’accompagne les équipes de maternelle dans la conception d’environnements favorisant le langage, l’autonomie, l’exploration, le jeu et les premiers apprentissages. Une attention particulière est accordée au développement global de l’enfant, à la continuité des apprentissages et à l’adaptation des pratiques à son âge et à ses besoins.
Making education accessible
I want to make educational knowledge more accessible, and to give teachers resources that are simple, reliable and ready to use.
Through this site I offer, free of charge, short webinars, guidance, practical resources and tools that answer what education professionals have asked for.
I also want to build links between teachers and schools in different countries, to give their experience its due, and to make the work done in their classrooms better known.
Sharing, training and supporting teachers, so that children everywhere learn with pleasure.
